IdleMiner FAQ

What sites does IdleMiner support?
Currently IdleMiner supports both Party Poker, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker. We offer Hand Grabber products for the Pacific Poker Network, the OnGame Network, and Bodog Poker.

Will my computer run IdleMiner?
Generally if your computer can open the maximum number of tables that the poker client allows, you will be fine when running IdleMiner. We recommend:
  • Windows XP Home or Pro
  • 256 MB+ RAM
  • 20 MB Free disk space
  • 1.2GHz or faster processor

What is the difference between IdleMiner and other datamining software?
IdleMiner doesn't just save hands to your harddrive so they can be imported, IdleMiner actually opens and closes tables for you automatically! It is entirely hands off.

How long will the free trial last?
IdleMiner will run in locked (trial) mode with full access to all features until it has saved one thousand hands. After that happens, IdleMiner will no longer function on your computer until you purchase a license.

How many computers does the license allow me to install IdleMiner on?
You may install IdleMiner on up to two computers. This is so that you can have it on both your laptop, and your desktop, at no additional charge. Additional requests for installation will be handled on a case by case basis and should be directed to support@idleminer.com. We reserve the right to refuse unlocks to anyone who abuses this process.

Is there any warranty?
We strive to ensure our customers are happy, and offer very fast response times on any and all problems. We will refund orders that have been placed within the last 7 calendar days if the product fails to operate correctly.

What does a purchase of IdleMiner get me?
Purchasing a license of IdleMiner allows you to datamine unlimited hands, forever! You will also get updates as bugs are fixed and new features are released, for free!

I'm having trouble using IdleMiner, where can I get more information?
Detailed information on how to configure and use IdleMiner can be found in our tutorial. If you are still having trouble you can contact us via e-mail at support@idleminer.com.

How come nothing happens after I hit start?
There are two possible causes of this:
  1. You do not have any limits added to be datamined
  2. You have the Manual Operation Mode item checked in the options menu.
You can get more information on the operation of IdleMiner in our very nice tutorial.

How come I am not getting any hand histories with IdleMiner FullTilt?
  1. Make sure you have hand history extension saved to .txt
  2. Make sure you enable Keep Persistent Copies of .tmp files
  3. In FTP, go to Options->Hand History and make sure you have enabled Save Hand Histories
  4. Make sure the output path for FTP and IdleMiner match and that there is a folder with that name. If there isn't one, create it.
Why does IdleMiner say it is saving hands, but PokerTracker fails to find any new hands?
This can be caused by one of two things:
  1. You have the output location specified incorrectly in IdleMiner, try changing this to a new directory and pointing PokerTracker to this new directory.
  2. You have IdleMiner set to save hands as an hhf extension, but do not have PokerTracker trying to import from the IdleMiner output directory as OBSERVED hands. Try changing the extension from hhf to txt, or vice versa.
Why does Pacific Poker Hand Grabber just sit there waiting for tables?
You have an old version of Hand Grabber, since then Pacific has made changes that forced us to release a new version. You can download the new version here.

Will IdleMiner run on Vista?
Nany of our users have had success running IdleMiner in Vista under XP compatibility. To do this, after downloading IdleMiner, right click on the Idleminer icon, select Properties->Compatibility and select the option to run in XP service pack 2 Compatibility and as an administrator. This is how many of our users are operating.

How do I pay using a credit card?
We accept both Paypal and Google Checkout.

We recommend Google Checkout for quickest and most reliable service. Google Checkout does require a Google Checkout account, which you set up automatically when entering in your payment information.

Paypal does not require a paypal account, when you check out you will get redirected to the paypal website. Simply click on the "Continue" button under "Don't have a paypal account?"

I've paid via paypal and it has been more than 24 hours why have I not received an e-mail with instructions on how to unlock my software?
There are two possibilities:
  • The e-mail has been sent but has been caught by your spam filter, please check this
  • You have paid via e-Check, in which case we must wait until the check clears before paypal posts the order to us. This typically takes 3 business days.
